Some of our Operational & Associate Directors

Ansel Wong

Learning & Development

Ansel has a proven track-record of success working for and with diverse communities over many decades. Immediately before joining Focus in 2003, he was Vice Principal of Morley College (from 1992). His wide-ranging career has taken him across public and charitable sectors and has included public appointments as well as senior management positions, equipping him with in-depth knowledge and experience of race equality and diversity issues, as well as the ability to communicate across cultural boundaries and at the most senior levels. He has held several appointments as Non-Executive Director and Chair of a number of health and NHS organisations in London. He is also a Justice of the Peace and a Fellow of the RSA.

Tetteh Kofi

Communications / Learning & Development

During his career to date, Tetteh has advised many of Focus’s clients in the public and private sectors on brand development, brand management, crisis management, corporate communications and public relations. His understanding of cultural issues and their impact on social, current and economic affairs makes him particularly effective in helping clients to find solutions that fit their corporate, marketing and social goals. Tetteh has also trained many private and public sector executives and leaders in the management and delivery of diversity programmes globally, and invariably achieves high levels of engagement and enthusiasm. An experienced broadcaster, Tetteh founded the fastest-growing ethnic press title in the UK and today, in addition to his professional commitments, he also performs a number of advisory and pro bono roles, including chairing the Advisory Board to the Secretary of State for Works and Pensions and sitting on the Business Board of the Princes Trust.

Maggie Semple, OBE

Company

The impact assessment training that Focus provided had a genuinely transformative effect, and the consultant took a supportive, flexible approach to meeting the needs of our organisation. This approach has enabled us to establish a firm footing to work towards embedding equality across the University.
